I am Allie Watson, I am a Mixed Media artist who specialises in small paper collage, textiles and print. I particularly like to use all of these techniques together in one piece!

I share my home with my two cuddle monsters, Hershey and Dexter who like to supervise at all times!

I have been working as an artist as a way to deal with my Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) and physical disabilities.

I live and work in Southend on Sea, Essex, a place I have lived since birth and a place I love with a passion. A lot of my work is inspired by my childhood memories of the town and seafront.

I rent studio space in an old fire station that is under the same roof where I volunteer and have been a member of for several years.

I volunteer with Open Arts a community arts and health programme which helps manage and maintain mental health and wellbeing through creativity. It has been fundamental to me.

My textiles work in particular focuses on what it feels like to have a hidden illness. It is a platform to say and show things that are often very difficult to convey.

My hope is that through my work I can help decrease stigma that surrounds mental health and hidden illness by increasing understanding through observation.

I want the experience of seeing my artwork to be multilayered, the more you look at the piece, the more you are able to see with the use of different materials.

If you would like to buy a collage, if you have an idea for a commission piece, or share the love of collage, please contact me via the contact page. I look forward to hearing from you!
